I've been studying the issue, and I believe it may have something to do with the mucous membranes that cover their skin, allowing them to change colors.

If I had one of their Translucent Mucus Membranes to study, perhaps I could figure out how they do it.

Maybe I'd even learn some way to adapt their abilities for Human use.
