Dialog

select1

That shade-cursed thief!

He said he had no place to go, so I gave him food and shelter and treated him better than he deserved.

And how does he return the favor? By stealing from me!

Dialog

select1_1

I'm talking about Phelos!

He followed me around, calling me boss and bowing deeply. It's shameful, but I fell for it.

It's bad enough to think of everything Phelos took with him when he disappeared. But what makes me really upset is that he had me so completely fooled.

Ask Quest Accept

ask_quest_accept

I'd like to send my men after him. If I do that, though, word will get out that Phelos played me for a fool.

I know Phelos fled to Poeta, and...hey! You lived in Poeta before you became a Daeva, right? Can you chase him down?

I even have a lead for you--a weapons merchant named Amus who'll be eager to buy what Phelos stole. How about it?

Quest Accept 1

quest_accept_1

I have the feeling that Phelos is a real con artist. For that matter, I'm not even sure that "Phelos" is his real name.

His appearance is more distinctive than his name, anyway. He's tall and has this really peculiar nose.

Oh, and Amus the weapon dealer? If he gives you any trouble, just hint that you know all about his embezzling.

"I'm off to Poeta."

Quest Refuse 1

quest_refuse_1

You don't want to work for someone like me, is that it?

I've heard this routine before. "It's shameful for a Daeva to do business with the kingpin of the back alleys." Am I right?

Well, a lot of Daevas in Sanctum don't mind a little action in exchange for a tall stack of Kinah. More than you'd think...

"Farewell."

Dialog

select2

It wasn't embezzling! It was just unorthodox accounting!

And I only did it a couple of times--just to make ends meet.

I'll tell you all I know about that guy...just let me take care of my accounting troubles quietly.

Dialog

select2_1

Was Phelos his name? I remember a young man with a weird nose--He was in a pitiful state.

He said that he needed money because his aged father was sick...he had tears in his eyes! Of course I believed him!

When he left with my money, he said something about a friend, Jenel, somewhere on the Cantas Coast.

"I'll go there next. Thanks."

Dialog

select3

That's right, I'm Phelos's friend. But he isn't here.

He stopped by a while ago with some money to send to his father.

You see, Phelos left home because his stepmother came between him and his father. But every so often, he comes by here and asks me to send some money to his dad.

Dialog

select3_1

Phelos really did that? I heard that he had a small business in Sanctum, but I had no idea it was that sort of "business," if you know what I mean.

Phelos said he was going to try his luck in Theobomos next. And he was worried about a Daeva named Crios following him.

If Phelos is involved with something shady...you don't suppose he meant Crios the bounty hunter, do you? Tell Phelos to confess before Crios gets a hold of him!

"I just want to find him."

Dialog

select5

Phelos, you say? Never heard of him. And if I had heard of him, I wouldn't tell anyone working for Lityerses.

Yeah, I'm talkin' about you. Some friendly advice: keep clear of Lityerses and his crew, or you might find you're in over your head.

And why does Lityerses care about Phelos, anyway?

Reward

select_quest_reward1

Hah! I don't know who Phelos is, but I'd like to shake his hand for pulling one over on Lityerses.

If you ask me, Phelos did a public service. Lityerses is a real thug--those extortion rackets of his make ordinary people live in fear.

Anyway, Theobomos is so un-policed and out of the way, I bet it's swarming with fugitives. But I'm here on other business--nothing to do with your Phelos.

Summary

quest_summary
  1. Talk with weapons merchant Amus.

  2. Talk with Jenel.

  3. Talk with bounty hunter Crios.

Find Phelos, who stole weapons and money from Lityerses.

Complete

quest_complete

Lityerses, a crime lord in Sanctum, took Phelos into his gang, but Phelos stole his money and weapons and then fled the city.

At Lityerses's request, you tracked Phelos. You talked with Amus, a weapons merchant in Poeta, and Jenel, Phelos's friend in Verteron. But you didn't catch up to Phelos.

Following Phelos' trail, you went to Theobomos and met Crios, who said he never heard of Phelos but advised you to keep clear of Lityerses.
