I doubt Gardon had any ill intent when he told you to see me about this. If he did, he wouldn't have thought to ask a scholar for valuation.

You see, scholars refrain from mixing professional and personal affairs, as the latter can often obstruct the path of knowledge. Therefore, we only assist with an appraisal when it's for the purpose of common gain.
