Of course I've heard of you! You ascended from a mercenary--that's unusual enough--but your exploits are known far and wide as well.

Have you heard of The Scorchlands?

They were lush forests, once, filled with Elim. But the Dragon Lord Fregion cursed this land--to this day, it's surrounded by flames. It's a wasteland.

And the Elim were transformed. Now they roam the region as Rotrons and Agrints--monsters.

Sanctum's tried everything, but nothing's worked so far.

I had to abandon a research camp there. The heat's unbearable, and the Agrints and Rotrons made it impossible to stay. They shake their burning branches and attack anything that moves. And it's getting worse.

If I'm to continue my work, I need to monitor the situation there. Can you help me?

In The Scorchlands, you'll find an Agrint named Tartagan. He's one of the few who survived transformation without losing his mind. See what you can learn from him.

Take a Stone of Purification just in case. I haven't seen him since I left, and I don't know how he's fared since then.

If you're unsure about his state of mind, give it to him, and get any information you can.

Look, this is about more than research. All Elysea could be in danger.

Fire Spirits are born from Flame Crystals? This is bad.

Flame Crystals contain the concentrated energy of a Dragon Lord. They're like seeds of evil.

I don't know if I can deal with this by myself. I may have to ask for help.

1. Feed the Stone of Purification to Tartagan and ask what happened to The Scorchlands.

2. Report the result to Ankises.

On behalf of Ankises, a Daeva of Flame, meet Tartagan and find out what's happening in The Scorchlands.

Ankises had to be evacuated from The Scorchlands, and wanted to continue the research he had left behind. He asked you to meet Tartagan, an Elim who had turned into an Agrint, and find out whether it was safe to go back.

Tartagan had lost his reason to his transformation, so you fed him a Stone of Purification. He told you that Fire Spirits were born from Flame Crystals and begged you to help stop it.

You returned to Ankises and told him about your conversation.
