Offer
A Miragent's Holy Templar must be versatile. So this time, we'll test your crafting skills.
Crafting isn't as glamorous as combat in the Abyss, but that's the point. We want to make sure you can do good work when there's no personal glory at stake.
The ideal Miragent's Holy Templar is well-rounded, after all.
Ask Quest Accept
I don't know why, but today's young Daevas belittle crafting skills. But they are wrong. You never know when the right craft will save your life.
What if you're isolated in a floating Abyss--someplace beyond Reshanta--for months or years? You'd have to be self-sufficient to stay in fighting trim.
Ready to prove you have what it takes?
Quest Accept 1
We don't require challengers to master all crafting skills. Any one will do.
If you pass this test, we'll give you another part of the Miragent Holy Templar uniform.
First, decide which crafting skill you'll use for the test. Pick something you're good at, obviously.
Quest Refuse 1
Asking for crafting skill is a change in direction. I get that.
But I think it's something you're ultimately capable of, even if you lack the confidence to proceed.
When you're ready, come back to me and you can resume your efforts as a challenger.
Dialog
Weaponsmithing and Handicrafting are offensive crafting skills. If you choose one of these skills, you can make powerful weapons.
Armorsmithing and Tailoring are defensive crafting skills. The armor you make protects your body or speeds your movement.
Cooking and Alchemy are supportive crafting skills. Food and medicine is the fuel that sustains us in battle.
Each category is important. Which shall I test you on?
Dialog
You chose offensive crafting skills. There's no weapon more reliable than one you make yourself. You've made the right choice.
Which do you prefer: Weaponsmithing or Handicrafting?
Dialog
Weaponsmithing specializes in metal weapons.
It's a choice for those who devote themselves to becoming blades of Sanctum--both physically and mentally.
Go to see Weaponsmithing Master Anteros in the Artisans Hall. He will tell you how to take the test.
Dialog
Handicrafting is a sophisticated skill that requires not only dexterity, but also an aesthetic sense. It's a good way to show that you're more than just a soldier.
Go to see Utsida. He will tell you how to take the test.
Dialog
You chose the defensive crafting skills. Nothing protects you better than the armor you make yourself.
Decide whether you want to be tested on Armorsmithing or Tailoring.
Dialog
Armorsmithing is a skill of refining hard metal into even harder armor.
Every bead of sweat from your time at the forge is effort you'll be thankful for when arrows bounce off your armor.
Talk with Armorsmithing Master Vulcanus in the Artisans Hall. He will tell you how to take the crafting test.
Dialog
You chose the Tailoring skill: armor that's both beautiful and strong.
If that's your choice, you must have a talent for elaborate techniques--and the tenacity to weave a whole garment from the most basic of threads.
See Tailoring Master Daphnis in the Artisans Hall. She will tell you how to take the crafting test.
Dialog
You chose the supportive crafting skills.
Foods and potions are indispensable to physical and mental strength. In a battle of equal skill and equal equipment, the combatant fortified with food and potions will be the victor every time.
Choose between Cooking, which makes food to strengthen body and soul, and Alchemy, which makes magical potions to bolster even the meekest Daeva.
Dialog
The Cooking skill requires keen judgment obtained from a long experience as well as precision in mixing ingredients properly. Judgment and precision are two attributes we Miragents treasure greatly.
See Cooking Master Hestia in the Artisans Hall. She will tell you how to take the crafting test.
Dialog
Even with the same ingredients, the alchemist can produce different potions--a salve or a poison, depending on the composition.
Master alchemists must very careful when handling herbs and reagents. I can see you have such caution.
See Alchemy Master Diana She will tell you how to take the test.
Dialog
Many consider Weaponsmithing to be the most difficult skill.
Thos who say that lack the desire for power and strength...
But I can tell you have the desire. How can I help you?
Dialog
The test of the Miragent Holy Templars...it's one of the most demanding of all.
Here is the design for the test. You make the Heart of Magic with this, but you can occasionally get Hot Heart of Magic instead
If you succeed in making the Hot Heart of Magic, take it to master craftsman Anusis.
Dialog
A handicrafted item is useless if it's merely functional--it must please the senses as well.
You have to work on a piece with devotion. Precious metals, in particular, are so sensitive that they notice immediately what the maker thinks.
However, only a master can work in concert with such precious materials.
Dialog
Ah, that design...no one's asked me for it in quite some time.
Here you go--I hope you have enough skill to understand the instructions.
If you happen to obtain a Hot Heart of Magic while crafting Hearts of Magic, take it to master craftsman Anusis.
Dialog
Without the best materials and the proper tools, you cannot make any armor, no matter how skillful you are.
That's the reason famous masters look for powerful patrons--those capable of acquiring the raw materials to make truly superlative armor.
But you need to practice and improve your skill first, your character. Patronage comes to those at the pinnacle of their skill.
Dialog
The test you're asking for is both arduous and technically demanding. If you lack the skill, you probably won't be able to decipher the instructions.
Craft Hearts of Magic following these instructions. When you succeed in crafting Hot Heart of Magic, take it to master craftsman Anusis.
Dialog
In the past when there was no loom, people used to weave cloth and make clothes with their bare hands. Now, we don't just have looms--we have looms imbued with the power of Aether.
Of course, a true master doesn't rely on machines or tools. A true masterpiece is woven in the mind.
Dialog
The design you seek is in my keeping.
I hand it over to anyone Lavirintos sends me. But I'll warn you: few of them complete it.
If your Tailoring skill is higher than a certain level, you can learn the design. Then, make Hot Heart of Magic and take it to Anusis.
Dialog
The traditional cuisine of Sanctum is more than mere food.
Before the Cataclysm, our lands were under siege by the Balaur. The Empyrean Lords, exhausted from continuous fights, restored their energy after eating food made by the greatest masters, then won the battle and broke the siege.
Making an artwork of flavors that pleases and empowers an Empyrean Lord...now that is cooking!
Dialog
It would please me immensely if a great cook became a Miragent's Holy Templar.
Here is the design. When you succeed in cooking Hot Heart of Magic, just take it to master craftsman Anusis.
But take heed: The recipe requires utmost skill to even understand.
Dialog
A potion bottle in your pocket can save your life. And it saddens me how many Daevas wind up speaking to the Soul Healer when they've got potions they've never tasted.
If more Daevas are alchemists, perhaps more will understand how a potion can make all the difference in the world.
Dialog
If you want to be a Miragent's Holy Templar, you must be tenacious. And if you're an alchemist, doubly so. Your success is assured...
...assured eventually, anyway. Here's the design. Craft the Hearts of Magic following its instructions.
If you happen to obtain Hot Heart of Magic while crafting Hearts of Magic, take it to master craftsman Anusis.
Dialog
No doubt you're here because you're a challenger, seeking to become a Miragent's Holy Templar.
Lavirintos told me to expect you.
Show me the Hot Heart of Magic you've made. I must examine it for...what's the technical term?..."heat." Yes, its heat.
Check User Item Ok
I've seen hotter, but this is above the temperature threshold. You pass!
For your diligence and acumen, I hereby award you the Insignia of Miragent, engraved with the power of the Hot Heart of Magic. Now, go quickly to Jucleas and perform the ritual of affirmation.
Check User Item Fail
You haven't crafted it yet?
Is it a failure of skill, or a failure of persistence?
Resume crafting the Crafted Heart, and bring it to me as quickly as possible.
Dialog
This last test must have been grueling. I almost feel like I'm taking it along with you, your character.
I get more anxious each time you speak to Lavirintos.
Dialog
Of course. And as the stakes get higher, so does the cost.
Did you bring a Glossy Oath Stone?
Dialog
Yes, you now require a more refined--and more expensive--rendition of the ritual.
And I know that look in your eyes, but don't blame me. Lavirintos warned you at the start that the cost would be high, didn't he?
Go buy a Glossy Oath Stone. I'll be waiting for you.
Progress
I've been waiting for you, your character.
Did you craft the Hot Heart of Magic and go through Anusis's check on it?
If you did, you must have the Insignia that Anusis made. Show it to me.
Reward
This insignia is one of a kind, because it's engraved with the power of the Hot Heart of Magic you made with your own hands.
I'll attach the insignia to the pants--another part of the Miragent uniform.
Each time we meet, you're looking more and more like one of us, your character!
